Cross Country Cyclers!

Late last summer, I was driving from Vermont to Maine across route 2 when I came upon this group of friendly cross country cyclers!  They had ridden all the way from Washington State! When I found them, they were just a few miles short of crossing the Presidential Range near Gorham, New Hampshire.  Lee Kayhart, a farmer from Addison, Vt., lost both arms in a farming accident more than 25 years ago.  Now, he has completed a trip on his high tech bike across the USA from Washington to Bar Harbor, Maine.

Lee Kayhart was accompanied by his wife and friends Bob and Terri Rohde and Rick Meyer!  Assorted bikes used on the trip, include Lee's bike named "Ruby", a very high tech bike imported from Australia.

Newport has a bike path along the lake!

It's an easy 1 to 1-1/2 hour ride along the lake to the end of the path and back.   I always enjoy this ride!

Newport, Vermont Cyclers enjoy a casual bike ride along the shoreline of Lake Memphrémagog! The bike path begins in Newport Vermont, and runs along the lake shore for several miles. There are great views of the lake and of many fine homes and camps along the way.

Enjoying the ride along the lake!
